STUDIES: I was born in Paris on June 16th 1954. I completed my classical studies in Novara and took my philosophy degree in Milan, where I also studied classical dance at a professional level with Maestro Walter Venditti and the prima ballerina Vera Colombo (Teatro Alla Scala). I further improved myself in Bruxelles, by attending the classes of the MUDRA School of Maurice Béjart and in London with the classes of the Royal Ballet, directed by Barbara Fewster.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES: I became very fond of theatre for children, after my experience as a volunteer assistant for staging The Story of the Abandoned Doll directed by Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro and the Piccola Scala of Milan.
Since then, musical theatre for children and young people has become my passion. I became assistant at the Teatro del Buratto of Milan, where I collaborated with Tinin and Velia Mantegazza for the realization of performances for small children and, in the meantime, I taught Narration (theory of the script for screenplays) at the Yorick school for operators in this sector, which was opened in Milan by the Mantegazza family.
Always in Milan, I directed the Young Section of the Teatro di Piazzale Cuoco, as a part of the decentralization policy wanted by Paolo Grassi (Piccolo Teatro) and later on as responsible of the Press Office at the MGR Agency, in charge of the organization of cultural and scientific events.
In Torino I got involved in the “Franco Antonicelli” Association and in the Faculty of Humanities (professor Gigi Livio, Gian Renzo Morteo) for musical performances for children, realized by the Teatro U! and thanks to the contribution of great artists: Ugo Nespolo for the set designing, Vittorio Sermonti for the text, Sergio Liberovici for the music.
I arrived in Bolzano and I created, invented and directed the Association BRICABRAC (an Association supported by the Province and the Municipality of Bolzano), an atelier of mental gymnastics and a dance theatre workshop, meant to be done for and with young people, to whom I propose annual research projects: reading of texts suitable to their age, figurative research on the décor and the costumes, listening to cultured music of various kinds, education to the movement.
AWARDS AND COLLABORATIONS: In over twenty years of commitment, I realized performances that have been invited to the most important World Festivals of Children’s Theatre (Japan, Germany, India, Australia, Canada, Scotland, Cuba, Russia, Finland). I received awards, special mentions and certificates for the high quality of my works from Italian Cultural Institutes abroad and flattering appreciations in the international and foreign press.
I performed a play at the MART (Museum for Modern Art), collaborated with the State Academy of Music “Claudio Monteverdi” in Bolzano, the Institutes for Music “Verdi” in Venice and “Brera” in Novara, the theatres “Malibran” and “La Fenice” in Venice, I created international workshops with the Ryan International School of New Dehli, India, I am a member of “Hands On!”, an international association bringing together Children’s Museums in Europe and throughout the world.
I support the associations “Arts by Children”, “Save the Children”, AIL, “Donatori di Musica” in favour of childhood and scientific research.
